Everything was great, but one little hiccup! I sent in my Quit Claim Deed and there was confusion on whether I should give the original document or not. The communication between PennyMac and other loan servicing company could improve a little because anytime there’s a miscommunication between the two companies, the person trying to apply for the loan has to revisit issues they’ve already taken care of. I know there’s a lot involved in this process, but it’s just something I noticed.
I requested different disbursement amounts be included in order to avoid overpaying certain accounts. I provided the statements needed as requested and that didn’t happen. I’ll now have to wait for checks from some companies to be issued. The rate feels a little high as rates went down over the length of time it took from start to finish.
During the process I never felt alone, I felt like I had a team working behind scenes and they were checking with me once a week and If I had questions I was able to contact them which it felt very nice.
The process was simple enough. However, I was promised follow-up calls and email that never happened. I had to be calling every time I wanted to learn about the status of my process and most of the time the answers were far from clear or precise. I even received a call from one agent one day letting me know that the process was delayed and the closing wouldn't happen by the time offered initially, and then almost a couple of days later I would receive an email about the documents being ready.

Great service.
From start to the closing day, the loan documents with closing disclosures have ALWAYS been inaccurate. Ed and team were never on the same page in regards of accurate closing costs. None of the managers ever got in contact with me to resolve the issues . At closing, the closing costs changed, AGAIN, from what we were told explicitly. The overall experience was frustrating. I understand delays due to pandemic is unavoidable, but there were other delays that could've been avoided to close faster.
Kami was fantastic and the ONLY one that helped me. Eric was a terrible communicator and lied to me more than once. Jay, the original person to start the process, also lied about what to expect and the time frame it would take to close the loan. The excuses were lame too. Kami is the one that actually saved this loan, as I was going to go elsewhere and demand the 100.00 back
“Unpleasant experience” puts its lightly. The worst encounter of customer service I have ever experienced in my consumer lifetime is a bit closer to the truth. This isn’t just the final loan specialist either, it is wall to wall PennyMac. I don’t have enough characters to describe the the level of detail the professional incompetence I experienced, and the financial hardships endured on behalf of every PennyMac employee.
