The process took 3 times longer than expected. My closing date was rescheduled 3 times due to improper closing process by PennyMac not in accordance with my state law. Until the last few weeks every time I called to follow up I had to speak to multiple different people that knew nothing about my loan or the laws in my state. Communication between PennyMac and my closing attorney was poor, they would not respond to my closing attorney in a timely manner. They need to implement new processes.

Everything seemed to take forever. When I had family members applied and closed in 2 weeks at different places and it took us 2 months or more.

Our loan application was open for almost three months. We were set to close within a month but it was greatly delayed. We were constantly having to prompt communication even when there were delays and changes of dates. Because so many different people were involved in the process, communication was difficult and information was not consistent. Originally we weren’t going to refinance with them due to our prior experience with them but gave them a second chance and it was just as awful.

Please know I absolutely bragged about how easy, seamless, and customer-friendly my whole experience was when re-financing my home with PM, & working with Liem. I was informed from the beginning to expect updates, and I sure got them! I never had to wonder or worry that it wasn’t being worked on. Liem was very responsive to my multitude of questions, which I’m sure were basic to him, but he was always patient in answering them and made sure I understood and felt comfortable.
