The refi loan took 3 months to close. I understand that the pandemic affected the time frame. I also had multiple requests for the same documents. Closing timeframe was pushed out several times. However, all the people were great about it and very professional. I would have rated them Great if not for the hiccups!

As closing time came near it was harder and harder to get replies from either Jason Staples or Karen flores. The day of closing the closing disclosure sent to the lawyer was very different from the one that I had digitally signed the week prior. I attempted to contact Jason and Karen both by email and phone. I got an email back from Jason simply saying he would have Karen call me. Unfortunately I did not receive a call back at all, but was finally able to talk to someone 3 days later.

It worked out fine for us as it was just a refinance to receive a lower interest rate. With over 60 days to close the loan (when we purchased the home our mortgage officer closed it in 15 days) I would not recommend PennyMac to someone purchasing a home as they would be at great risk of losing it.
