Tanairy was pretty darn good. The rest of the experience was NOT very good. Example: the underwriter waiting until the day before closing to look at the file and have more questions. NOT OK. Inability to float rate down, not impressed. I don’t think I would use PennyMac for a mortgage for a new purchase again.

It was a great experience but I wanted to share a few things to consider. We completely understand about fraud and doing all you can to prevent it. We support that 100%. However, we think in our situation it was not explained to us that we needed 8000 more to close. We were told that it wouldn’t be thousands more past the estimated closing costs and it WAS thousands. The process was better than I expected. It was handled in a timely manner and I was notified as my application was reviewed.
Pretty nice to close earlier than expected. If I had to say something that needs improvement would be the checks to creditors.
