Definitely better communication or a backup for loan officer. It seems person was out sick for a majority, but asked me not to work with the original loan officer Yuri who did a outstanding job very responsive and communicative.
Our experience with PennyMac was great! We had used a large local bank in the past for a couple of houses and one refinance and were shuffled around, forgotten about, and asked to submit the same documents over and over again. Just for the refinance alone it took almost 4 months with the local bank. Nothing got done unless I called and bugged them about it.
