I am neutral. I think PennyMac does a good job, just not great. Someone great has my back. They do a good job of explaining lots of things, but I would prefer more on how the process works (At a high level), for example what are all the costs associated (why they are necessary and where the money is going), why would I rate lock (what is the risk and what is the risk level in the current economy), and I would even go as far as doing a amortization break down. More info = better decision making
It was pleasure working with the mac team like Ashley and Eric. They are so helpful and such a nice human beings. I wish a better future and hope to see them again...
You can start by communicating with your customers and let us know how the loan is progressing and an estimated timeline for completion. We absolutely did not receive "weekly" updates and did not receive decent communication until after we complained. We actually got to the point where we were ready to back out of the deal altogether because we were tired of our finances being on hold and because of the lack of customer service. We will not use PennyMac again and we certainly cannot recommend yo

We started the refi on June 4th, closed on Sept 17th..money is supposed to be in checking account today, the 22nd..The documents weren't all requested up front..one here..one there..Loan sat in one of the " reviews" for 2 weeks!!! I'm my opinion, the process could have been handled more expiditiously!?
Very quick process
With the exception of an escrow mix-up and the need to reschedule my closing five days later due to a PennyMac scheduling error, the process went smoothly. Between COVID and a high activity volume due to the low interest rates, these glitches were not surprising and were resolved quickly with only minor inconvenience.
