Get directionsThe PennyMac team did a great job of answering any questions I had.
-contact with individual loan processor is difficult. A general line and mailbox for contact is not an acceptable method of communication. -my loan open topics did not move forward unless I called to push it forward. At that point my processor would go through emails and upload documents. -my closing date was nearly missed because of an oversight on the seller concessions. My loan was “approved” for 2 weeks prior to closing and the day before closing we were reworking all loan details.
The communication was not existent. Gwendolyn made 1 call to me. She was unpleasant and unprofessional. I never heard from Gwendolyn after the initial call. I sent email after email and phone call with no response. As a result I had to go to her management, who provided false promises and he too (Craig Wood) failed to communicate as promised. I was forced to reach out to (Teresa Henry) his VP, she was amazing. She did exactly what needed to be done and it was simply active communication.
I emailed Gwendolyn multiple times regarding questions on the documents that were pending. She didn't reply to my emails (only 1 time) all the other times I ended up calling PennyMac myself and I had to go out of my way and contact my Homeowners Insurance to obtain the Declaration page with the correct amount to finalize my closing. The 1 and only time I ever spoke to Gwendolyn she was a bit rude, sarcastic and seemed as if she was annoyed when answering my questions.
Appraisal came out twice, my fees keep going up every week closing cost doubled at signing. Mortgage insurance went from 4 years to 15 years.
Disclosure of everything
1)Truthful representation. For example, being told by salesman that we had been given an appraisal waiver, then being told by the second member of the team ( at the last moment) that we would need to go through an appraisal after all. 2) We waited for the "mobile notary" on our closing day and after the time for their arrival had passed by 30 minutes, we reached out to the notary who informed us that the closing had been cancelled. Penny Mac failed to get the docs to her in time.
Easy to do business with, I would recommend them for your next home loan or a refinance of your existing loan.
PennyMac’s team is awesome to work with. They provide you with everything you need to accomplish the loan process quick and easily.
