The process was very efficient. The only hiccup I had was regarding the refi in my name only as the property was owned by me prior to marriage and was to retain separate property status notwithstanding that Texas is a a community property state. I had asked if my spouse had to be with me at closing and was advised that that would not be necessary. As it turned out, even though the closing was for a separate property asset, my spouse was required to sign some papers at closing.
