We wanted to purchase a second home. Our loan officer Nathan was patient, took time to explain everything to us line by line and was extremely responsive. He got a price match guarantee at an even lower rate. Our loan processor Carolyn was absolutely incredible. Extremely responsive, she took great care and time EVERY time we spoke to ensure documents were in order. She was thorough and meticulous and the reason we closed on time. BAD! The delay in closing was infuriating - 8 weeks after expected and misleading communication as to why. We uploaded doc request promptly, but they kept expiring and we were continually updating documents. Communication was terrible, my emails were largely ignored, and there are two different portals that were difficult to use - not intuitive. We were notified of a change to the final closing figures only hours before the mobile notary showed up. Wish we went somewhere else!

Every step of the process was met with ambiguous communication and confusion. To get my refinance moving, I had to be aggressively proactive. I had to acquire direct lines to team members and managers. I had to leave voicemails and send emails multiple times. The first notary didn't show up. No calls from Pennymac or the title company. 2nd time around, the notary was missing paperwork. Had to rush and scramble to get the missing paperwork signed. More direct lines of communication are necessary.
The request for documents and information that had already been sent, and confirmed as having been received, were constant. I was less than confident on any given day that PM had any of the required documents that were necessary to complete the loan process. everyone was extremely pleasant but the flow of data was beyond poor. sorry for the tough words.
It took us 3 months to finally get the loan moving.If Gina Merritt would start moving it .All the paper work on our side PennyMac had.After three months my husband had switched jobs so we had to get that moving.Then on date of closing we sit here and waited for the closer he never showed up so we called him and he tells us our loan was canceled.There again if it wasn’t for Gina the nightmare would of not been over.We finally closed at8:30 that night no dinner.
