Jesika was pleasant to work with, when I could get a hold of her. Areas for improvement: 1. communication on timeline (1 week from initial closing date I still had no communication from Jesika that we would not close on time (not her fault, builders fault and pennymac red tape that delayed), it was only after directly asking if we would close on time that I was given a straight answer. 2. Final disclosure was not correct and not communicated prior to closing. Closing required a personal check with additional funds. Now being called by AMROCK that the check is not acceptable and have to wire money. In the meantime my excellent credit is in jeopardy.
Pennymac is very reliable and helpful. They have phone availability and you speak to people here in America. They have helped through multiple financial situations, both of which were resolved. For me, they have been a good company and I recommend them.
Communication
I feel like the communication could be worked on. Especially when you’re dealing with customers who live in different time zones. We also got requests for things on a Friday night two Business days before we were closing, and that added onto an extreme amount of stress especially when I was unable to get a hold of anybody over the weekend. The hard work Penny Mac put in to ensure my approval, documentation needed and closing went very smoothly.
The staff is great
Not asking for the same documents over and over. Reading what we sent instead of asking for things we already sent. Answers questions more accurately and getting the closing documents right without us having to ask for corrections.
Had the team been in better communication. This is not specifically on Damian, I had to constantly call and send the same documents repeatedly. This caused my refinance to be temporarily declined. This isn’t my first refinance through PennyMac so I hope this was the exception.
