Sumayyah did a great job.
Loan Officer Imelda Sanchez was efficient and professional throughout but I unfortunately was passed off to others to have the file (mis)-managed and had to seek the intervention of the Retail Operations Manager to get it back on track and to close. It wasn't until I had a competitive offer from Rocket Mtge that I got action. The loan processor went AWOL for three weeks (apparently for a family emergency) but never notified me. It took six months from start to finish for a simple refi.

The loan officer that started my application process could have been much better. Telling me I don’t need to do a,b,and c but in the end I had to do it anyway is kind of frustrating. I was also charged a fee for something that was not required or done. It was removed but that’s the point I’m making. Say what you mean and mean what you say. He made up for it in the end and that was what kept me interested.
The closing process was long and seemed to have a disconnect between the portal and the info the loan processors had available. There were too many people involved and there always seemed to be confusion between the email requests, portal requests, and verbal communication. The original processor even ran our credit twice. Ajanay Cummings took over towards the end and she really was the only part of the process that was positive and the reason I did not rate my experience much lower.

Your loan processor Sierra was great. The rest of the process with delays, multiple requests for the same documents and underwriting approval was terrible. I would not recommend PennyMac for those reasons.

I understand that Covid played a role in the loan but I thought it took a rediculous amount of time from beginning to closing. I was warned several times that I wouldn't be able to close if I didn't have a cashier's check for the closing costs but I was not informed of the cost until 1:00 PM on the day that my closing was scheduled. My appointment was at 4:00 PM. Cutting it pretty close for have the check ready for closing. Made 3 payments during process and now waiting 20 days for escrow refu
