The person who settled on the terms of the loan, Susan Aowrang, was just wonderful--responsive, reasonable, really went all out to help finalize the deal on her end. Once Susan's end of things was done, it all dragged for MONTHS and I often received no response to my inquiries. The closing documents from the title company were incorrect as we sat at the signing table. I came THISCLOSE to calling the whole deal off because of the mistakes and lack of communication.
The process at PennyMac to refinance my loan was simple. Everything is automated except signing the final loan docs, which required a notary, but even that was easy. I was informed throughout the entire process and prompted when something needed my attention. Kelly, my PennyMac agent, also reached out regularly to make sure I had everything I needed. Superior automation and excellent service with a personal touch, I couldn't have asked for more.
Process was seamless. All involved very courteous, professional, and timely.
I started the refi in August and did not close until December. I had three different closing dates and the first one was canceled because PennyMac needed current financial statements. This would have been totally unnecessary if we could have closed earlier. I’d been told all along that everything was going well until it wasn’t. To add insult to injury, nobody even called me to tell me that the closing was off. I worked with several different representatives that after a while I felt no kinship

Closing was delayed by a month and a half and I was not told this until I asked.
Some of my documents got lost in the mail, it seems, now I feel as if my social security and private information maybe out there.
My closing cost amount changed at closing, which was very frustrating because I already had a cashiers check for the original amount. I will say, when I did get in touch with Nick, he did rectify the situation. I do not blame Nick because he didn’t find out the amount had changed till the morning of the closing. I just feel there should be better communication to not just the customer but within the company.
This was an easy loan process. We even had to start over after my Dad passed so we could remove him from the loan.
