I thought since we currently had our mortgage with PennyMac, it would go a lot faster. That is what it is. My biggest "complaint" would be the extreme lack of communication. The person I originally was dealing with was very attentive to my concerns and VERY quick to respond. The person I ended up with was not at all. They were VERY nice the 2 times I spoke to them, but they were not at all attentive and VERY slow to contact me....even sometimes upon my contacting them more than once.
From the application process all the way to the closing documents, Kyle and his team did an amazing job with updates and check ins along the way. Thank you to Kyle and his team. Raymond Hilko
PennyMac has a awesome team. Nicholas Guerrero was great in every area in helping me with my refinance loan. I also want to thank Michael Payne he was the first to answer the phone when I call and helping me get on the right track for this loan and getting the team to help me threw it all. Initial communications with loan officer (Affan Khwaja) and during processing with the PennyMac Loan Team rep (Jason Hord), were timely, clear and professionally delivered. All questions and requests answered quickly. When follow-up was required, Jason called us directly and offered assistance to complete a step or answer any questions we might have, From beginning to end, we had a very smooth experience that was handled in a super-professional manner! This experience I would rate a 6 during this particular process . Communication is important; however, having correct and good communication skills is KEY. During this loan process, I found this was lacking and made the process a little frustrating at times, as feedback, status and confirmation to questions was often delayed, overlooked, or not answered and timing was critical. Overall, I am pleased with PennyMac. This experience would not deter me from referring family/friends.
better customer service, Loan processor seemed not to know some of the question asked, had to wait for a call from the original loan officer.
From the firsts talks the process was clear after a couple of questions from my side; I feel comfortable with my decision to run the refinance of my house with PennyMac; I had two other proposals but I declined them because of the confidence with PennyMac after these past years.
Missed deadlines, slow communication, redundancy, several points of contact requesting different documents. It was more difficult to refinance than it was to secure the original loan. In the end, we're very thankful we closed the loan, but please know, we do not intend to seek any future mortgage lending through PennyMac. There is no excuse for the incompetence of the professionals or the lack of organization in what should be a standard process.
