The process was a good experience with the only downside being how long it took. That was due to the low rates and COVID not the company.
PennyMac has serious communication problems that could be easily addressed by updating “notes” in customers’ files. Every time I would upload a file, I would receive emails and phone calls asking for that same file to be uploaded. Throughout the six month process, I received phone calls asking me if I was interested in refinancing. We were supposed to close four separate times and when we didn’t, we had to upload the same documents again and again.

In my case, a local Title Co. was selected at on set of the process. In mid stream of the process, the parties were interjected and I had to intervene to assure that the chosen title co was continually on forefront for closing. Also, communication was accurate, however responses to questions were delayed and that caused uncertainty as to continue with PennyMac or switch to another lender in the middle of process. Overall, the team was on track and supportive.
Communication was great, but it took forever, the process started in May, closed in mid October, at that point the agent should have checked for a lower rate. Emeldo was great throughout everything but PennyMac has too many hoops to jump through and too many forms were repeated literally every month. The notary company used was also unorganized.
It was hard to get answers at time. We thought the process took a few weeks longer than expected. Regularly got told "due to Covid there are delays". That was the main problem.
I don't feel any of my issues were jason hords doing, but to be asked,4 and 5 times to refax documents i had proof of being transmitted was frustrating. I do think Vartan did advocate for me , and Jason was kind and understanding of my frustration. I have documented every conversation and faxing of said documents. I am glad to know its over. I thought going through PennyMac would be easier as I have been with them for years. Such a fuss over a charge account my sister has for me in event
