My experience with Pennymac and staff was great! The process was smooth and fast! The loan officer took his time to explain things to me and transition to the other staff members who assisted me were very professional and friendly. Thank you Pennymac!

The original loan officer did not put in that I had requested my own attorney. I moved forward with the application so I didn’t delay the process any more. It was just frustrating that my request wasn’t honored - especially since my attorney is a close friend and I was giving him some business during this time. Max helped me figure out why my attorney wasn’t used and was able to help me resolve the issue.

The level of communication and the clearness of that communication was overall great. The only complaint was a small lapse in responses and some unexpected delays in closing. It was only a minor issue and easily overcome by the return to speedy and accurate communication to close the process.

Everything went well until the day we were to close. Two different notaries contacted me. Before the end of the day both told me that closing had been canceled and Nicole told me we had to reschedule for 2 days later. We weren't happy with all of the confusion. Finally one notary called, said she had paperwork but was told to cancel on the way, she came, we signed and it was accepted. I couldn't get ahold of anyone from Pennymac that day. No replies to email or voicemail after talking to Nicole

More communication would definitely help, it wook a bit longer to receive responses to emailed questions, also it would have been nice for someone from pennymac to go over what all is needed at closing, i.e. form of payment. Other than that it was a decently easy process.

The closing was a disaster. The mobile notary asked us if if we had witnesses, mortgage amount was more than payoff figure, closing costs were a lot with no explanation on anything. We placed calls to our representative who tried to find out the answers and was unable to reach our mortgage broker. The notary had to call his contacts to find out about witnesses, we called a friend in the business to help us, and no one was available to explain the legalese as we read through each page. Nightmare
