Problems: My first closing appointment had incorrect information (residing in the home vs. investment property) in my closing documents. Also, I was notified of the modest cash-to-close amount via an auto document delivery where the cash-to-close was not prominent. Being an IRRRL there often are no closing costs. I appeared to first closing unprepared to pay closing costs. Solution: Ensure closing documents are correct. Notify the customer of cash-to-close very clearly and at least twice.
The closing should have been done sooner. It took more than 3 months to close a loan that should have been done within a month.
Better communication
To start out with the re-fi loan process we worked with Tristan Summers. He was very knowledgeable and was very helpful during the initial process. He introduced us to Carlton Blood who took over our loan. Carlton, as part of MyMacTeam, was with us for the remainder of the process. He kept us informed during all of the steps in the process and sent a congratulatory email when the loan was funded. The entire process went very smooth even though it took longer than expected due to the virus .

Knowledgeable, efficient and courteous. Closed sooner than expected. Requested person that closed loan to wear mask, she did in addition to wearing gloves. On time very personable.
I had to schedule my Mobil notary visit 5 times over the course of a 5 weeks and it is not Deion’s fault, but the company that was used. This turned my great experience with Deion into a sub par experience with this notary company who was supposed to bring the documents to my home for a signature. Deion was awesome. The notary company ruined the experience. Props to PennyMac but let’s go with quality partners who may not be the cheapest but can guarantee appointments. 5 rescheduling is unsat
Initial “sales” rep was either fired or quit after starting process. Disclosure paperwork was initially inaccurate causing a further delay in paperwork. Very hard to get up to date communication regarding process. Had to submit same documents multiple times. I was asked questions that should have been asked up front a week before closing. We did NOT close on time. Funding was delayed on the day of closing causing a gap in when I could receive keys. The Notary was very nice however inexperienced.
