Everyone at Penny mac was so professional and personable.
This was my 2nd refi with Penny Mac and had my 1st experience not gone "Great" I would have looked for another lender. The personnel are very knowledgeable and clearly explain processes. Nick Hagen frequently called me to update where my application was in the process. Great Guy!
The amount due at closing continuously changed. We were told no money due at closing. We had to get the loan revised three times! It was frustrating.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic I felt that this Refinancing process flowed smoothly and quickly under the circumstances of many individuals working from home. I can imagine how much quicker things would have processed under normal operations. However, the time for completion fit my needs perfectly and I greatly appreciate the professionalism from the employees of PennyMac.
Fast and professional. The communication was not clear. Clients should be given a reasonable expectation of what's nest and when. I'm an existing customer and PennyMac has a good reputation. So I felt safe. Overall, the transaction went smoothly.
The loan process and customer service was excellent. David Malki and My'Esha Allen provided prompt and professional service. They were responsive to calls and email inquiries and ensured that we were informed of the process. The closing process needs improvement. This was the second time that I closed a loan with PennyMac and the experience both times was horrible. We were not notified that the closing date was postponed until we called after the scheduled appointment time.
We were suppose to close on Memorial Day the notary called us at 30 minutes before our appointment and did not have the documents. Due to the holiday no one answered our phone calls. We called numerous times to get an update. We ended up talking to someone the following day and set up a new time. The notary called us that morning saying once again they did not have the documents. Four hours after the appointment time we the notary showed up. No word from anyone on the Penny Mac team.

This process was without a doubt the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a company. I had 3 failed closings, zero communication, and after everything I had to go over Robert Winkler to his manager's manager, AND STILL, he was unable to make it an easier process. I still had a failed closing working with the manager, Mr. Orr. Incompetence is a common trait in PennyMac. I finally closed approximately 4 weeks late, and would not EVER recommend PennyMac to a friend or family.
