Loan failed to close on time. 2 attempts to close were canceled, one of which I never even got a call. Because the loan failed to close on time I have been receiving default notices from pennymac stating that my payment is late, even though pennymac was the one doing the refinance. I did an interest rate reduction loan, I was never told the only reason I was getting lower interest rate was because I was buying points, it added almost 11k to my loan and used up part of my equity.

There was an extreme lack of communication. We loved Pennymac before this refinance experience, but we were very disappointed with the process. Things were not explained clearly to us and once we started to ask questions we received the cold shoulder and nobody would return our calls. The interns and receptionists were outstanding and did a better job of communicating with us and answering questions than the rest of the team.
