I have been going to Pet's Friend for more than a decade, and I have found the care they have provided to both professional and tender. They also take the time to clearly inform me of my options. Highly recommended
My pup got into some stuff he shouldn't have, and had to spend a few days at the vet. We were referred to Pet's Friend by the emergency vet, who seemed quite fond of them. I can see why - the office staff was very nice and friendly, with a comforting atmosphere. Even my dog didn't do his usual 10-pounds-of-badass vet bark! My animals have been clients of Pet's Friend Clinic for about 6 years and I have never had anything but wonderful compassionate care from everyone there. I now have a pit bull mix as well as three cats and I haven't found a single instance of "disdain" because I adopted this so called "dangerous" dog. They treat her as the loving friendly dog she is. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
We love this clinic and have been coming here for years.. our cats have had some minor health issues that they have given us great advise over. Also one of their vet-techs is our pet-sitter!
After Palo Alto Pet Hospital closed down I searched around for a good vet, but nobody was particularly impressed with their cat vets. I finally got a recommendation for Pet's Friend, and late last year decided to go check them out. I've since been for annual check ups for all 3 of my cats, an eye exam for one of my girls, and an appointment for a rescue kitten with eye problems. I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Julie Miller, owner of Pet's Friend, for years (before she owned the clinic). She and her staff are compassionate and professional. I appreciate that she always informs me of the cost of tests and procedures before doing them. She also gives different options for care. I also board my dogs at Pet's Care when necessary. The facilities are the cleanest I've seen (I've toured many) and the staff 'visits' the animals frequently. They're also walked twice daily.
As an update...my cat never recovered and unfortunately I had to put her down. However, Dr. Long and the staff were so great. They scheduled the appt late in the day so we wouldn't face a bunch of people in the waiting room and let us take all the time we needed to say goodbye, both before and after the procedure. They didn't force us to pay that day, they sent a bill after and even sent a card that everyone in the office signed. I took my cat Butterball in this past Saturday to Pets friend because she was not any better from the treatments she was receiving from another vet The new vet Amy Long gave her an xray, and told me the reason why she was having trouble breathing was because her chest cavity was filled with fluid. Something that could not be seen in the other vets xrays( they looked like a 5 year old did them) She gave me a few options, one was to get the fluid out with a needle so it relieve her some of the shortness of breathe. I've been taking my Siberian Husky here since we moved to this area a year and a half ago. The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable, and they know what they're doing. They've treated my pet for everything from routine checkups, random sickness, and even for an injury caused by a vicious pitbull who was off the leash and attacked him (I guess they're not as sweet as above reviewers think they are).
