I rarely need to visit an urgent care but in the past I have chosen the Well Now on *********** in ***********, **. They had a clean environment and friendly staff. Today I had an eye injury and when I called my optometrist they advised me to visit urgent care for an exam. I got there and they handed me a tablet and told me to enter all my info and scan my ID and health insurance, a little annoying but I understand things change. I brought my autistic child into WellNow Urgent Care in **************, ** for a st*** test 5 months ago. I just received the first and only bill labeled "final notice" with a $375 charge with no sign of insurance claims from his ********* I called the WellNow billing department who stated they filed the claim but it was rejected by ********. Their website clearly states that they do STI screenings. I usually go to ***********************************, but WellNow was much closer so I decided to go there instead. I tell the receptionist that I'm there for an STI Screening and fill out the paperwork. The provider walks in (*********************) and says "so it ***** when you pee?"No? I never said that. I received a bill 2 year 5 months after my visit stating I was turned into a collecting agency. It didn't matter that I never received a ***** ***** changed my address, never changed my email address, ***** changed my phone number. Since it has been turned in to the collection agency they cannot answer any of my questions because they state they cannot see anything, But I can log onto Well now and pay my bill. Terrible customer service! Be VERY careful what you sign. They took out the payment that was owed without my consent from my bank account. When I thought I was signing authorizing payment for my visit, apparently it was for ANY payment. They refused to refund the money to my account. My insurance company had already mailed them a check for the amount owed, if only they had waited for it. Now I have to wait until they receive it to get my money refunded.
I strongly recommend considering an alternate location. I have encountered numerous issues at this particular branch, primarily due to the unprofessional conduct of certain staff members. For example, ************** has demonstrated a lack of seriousness in his duties, often misdiagnosing patients (me and my family) or inappropriately asking what medications they would prefer, seemingly just to expedite their departure. My daughter was denied services due to improperly billing my insurance. I have a bill from my insurance stating that the codes are not correct and until it's corrected myself nor insurance ain't be responsible for payment. They were asked to resubmit the diagnostic codes and it was rebilled in May 2024 from services in Jan 2024. My daughter balance is now 190 and some change which is being paid through my job (deductible) she did pay the copay. Even so, ***** is to be denied care.
