This thing really works I was very skeptical about buying the Polaris. I looked at this and researched different methods for pool cleaning equipment when we decided a couple of years ago to install an above ground pool. Not perfect but we’ll worth the 💰 I’ve had it for less than a week so I don’t know about it’s durability. And like many of the previous reviews, it definitely does need some tweaking particularly with regard to the proper amount of pressure to make it work optimally. However, once I got that all figured out it has worked like a dream. The only other thing I am going to do is to buy the extended hose because my pool is 18 X 33 so it has a tough time getting the area furthest from where the hose connects. Love it or hate it - it's the only game in town... Have owned several BG and AG pools over the years, and this is the only functioning cleaner available for AG pools - like it or not. You may have to fiddle with it to get it to run properly - but once tuned it's pretty much automatic. I see lots of folks having problems based on the reviews - suggest you: 1) measure/cut hoses according to instructions during install; 2) experiment with the pressure valve (open/closed) to see if you can find a setting which works best based o... read more
good value,had to take apart to fix product is good. when I first installed it would only go backwards, I really didn't want to send it back, so after about a week I decided to open it up, and I found that the ball was stuck behind the gasket. The gasket must have came out, this is the way I received it. Once I removed and corrected the gasket and ball location, it worked really good.
Polaris 65 It's always best to make your own opinion. Arrived broken, Polaris sent replacement parts. Vac was set up in the pool, and coils it's self up in a ball as pictured. Polaris advised, they have had problems with some components. They sent the replacement parts, with consist of all internal parts. After replacement, it still does the same thing. Read and follow the instructions. This is my second Polaris 65. When I received it I took it out of the packaging and read the instructions. Then I gave it to my husband to install. He hooked it up and it started working, I was happy. I went back 5 minutes later to inspect the progress of cleaning the pool. Great pool "vacuum." My pool has never been cleaner. Absolutely love it. I was hesitant at first because of the amount of negative reviews, but after making my own judgement and watching a few YouTube videos, I decided to buy one. I loved the fact that it runs off the return jet instead of the skimmer. What a bonus... You don't have to worry about missing skimming capabilities on your pool. Works amazing when you follow the instructions!!! Not sure what everyone complains about this guy wrapping up, I cut the hose(s) to length, modified my Intex output nozzle(see picture, I used a Dremel tool to widen the eyeball opening until I was able to thread the adapter into the opening, more on how this effects the device later). Placed it in the pool and turned my pump on. Polaris 65 automatic pool cleaner The Polaris 65 pool cleaner is the only one that will work in my pool because the bottom of my pool has step ups and electric pool cleaners get stuck on them. It works OK but it doesn't always cover the entire pool and sometimes it turns over and dumps water out of the pool from the jets that propel the boat. You need to be careful of it turning over because if you are not around to turn it back right side up, it could empty a significant amount of water out from your pool. It's not the best... read more
