Constantly thermal protects during summer months, so get about 1/2 the usage out of it vs the unit it replaced... Purchased to replace the original unit installed when our pool was built several years ago. Installation went smoothly, unit however has been a bit of a disappointment. Noisy pump When I installed this item, it was quiet and efficient as advertised. I was quiet happy and relieved that the reviews I read seemed unfounded. However in 1 month, the motor became noisy. My wife hates it and of course, it was 2 days after the return policy!! I am stuck with this poorly manufactured pump. I would not recommend it!!!!

Excellent replacement for old PB4-60 booster pumps I'm not sure how old our previous booster pump was since it was here when we moved into this house and most of the labels were faded, but it had definitely worn out its welcome at this house. Check all the factory settings before you begin the install This pump is junk! I bought this to replace an aging Halcyon model which at least ran for a few years. The replacement pump did not even run out of the box. It buzzes for a few seconds then trips. The shaft turns freely and the main pump has circulated plenty of water to the hydraulic end. Did not even make it 60 days.. Today my new Polaris booster pump stopped working. I decided to buy the entire new unit to insure I did not have any issues. It has been install for about 40 days.. And it just went out. Makes a loud humming noise and cuts off. The Amazon return is of course 30 days. So now I have to call the manufacture and see what can be done, what a hassle. Not to mention the fact that I have to pay to have it installed again.

VERY LOUSY PRODUCT. DON'T BUY THIS!!! I bought this October 6, 2015. In the last month it started screeching. My pool guy looked at it and said it was manufactured on April 11, 2014. It was already out of warranty when I bought it. He said it was sitting on the shelf for a year and 1/2. Now I have to replace a new one since I can't send it back. NEVER, NEVER, buy one of these on-line again. I learned a costly lesson!!!!!!!! I am VERY disappointed.

Leaks and not pumping in less than a year. I bought this pump June 8th 2015 . Today is April 29th 2016 . The pump is leaking and making terrible noise. Did not even last a year.
