Bad batch of pumps I've had similar experiences with the other low star reviews...Brand new motor was the loudest I have ever had in my life. It also would shut off randomly then turn back on. That happened a few times and then even without it running it was making a high pitched noise. I attempted to return but the shipping is incredibly expensive. I called the manufacturer listed and apparently you need an electrical license to get a free replacement.
Pump Failed in 19 months First pump lasted 9 years. This pump lasted 19 months. Bad warranty on product.
Be sure you need a new pump At the start of this season, My Polaris booster pump would work 5 minutes and then flip the breaker. Wouldn’t stay on. After a few iterations it wouldn’t come back on at all. Thought the electric motor had died. I wanted to be sure and I even got a multimeter and checked the voltages both on the motor terminals In the motor and on the double pole breaker switch in the breaker box. Did not function properly Product received did not function.
This product has been used and wiring is not attached to the motor, per my pool guy. This is a used product.
Installation and Operation Easy. I ordered this pump with the understanding it would be here in three days under Prime. It didn't get here for another week and a half. The outside Amazon box was all caved in and when I opened it, found the Polaris box inside without ANY additional packing material. I expected to see something broken and having to be returned. This came defective and the Company is not standing behind the product The pump came defective, over heats, very loud. Call the company and emailed the company they stated that only a Pool company could get one replaced not a consumer that purchased it. SO why sell this to consumer if you don't stand behind you product and warranty!
Quick Connect Plastics Cheap and Prone To Failure Mine came delivered with a shattered quick connect piece, and another that was clearly compromised, as it broke off in volute, forcing me to buy another. ZERO stars.
Cheap Chinese crap Purchased this one to replace the one I purchased 1 year and 1 month ago from amazon. Same model PB 4-60. Hopefully this new one will last longer. The one that came with my pool lasted 6 years. It had an AO Smith that was made in the USA. These have centurion motors that are made in China.
