Unless you are a certified pool company - DO NOT INSTALL We ordered this in Aug 2019 and installed ourselves (in an attempt to save a few dollars) in early September. Installation was easy and everything worked great. Used for the remainder of the summer (1-2 months) and after the first use this spring, the motor gave out. Contacted the the seller via Amazon and they referred us to Polaris. When I called Polaris they will not replace because we did not have a certified pool store install it for us - UNREAL!

Had to repair it on day one of operation I was replacing an existing booster pump so this was the same model. The old pump was hard plumbed in so I kept the same PVC. As soon as it was turned on the pump portion was leaking at the drain plug. Turns out the drain plug was cross-threaded and the o-ring was damaged. I had to use lineman's pliers to take the plug out as it was in that bad. When the plug was removed there were several pieces of the plastic thread on the case unit that came off the plug. Luckily for me my career o... read more

Flawed product and bad lot. Don't buy. My husband installed pump. It ran 5 seconds the first time and one second a few more times he turned it on. He thought perhaps he improperly connected the wires so he had our electrician check it out. What he found was one side of 115 v line drew 9 amps and other side was drawing 59 amps whereas it should have also be drawing 9 amps. That service call cost us $75. Since our pool had already gone 2 weeks w/o Polaris, we paid full price ($348) for the same pump so our electrician could in... read more

Pump is 15 months old and has stopped working. Poor quality. I bought this pump in January 2019. It stopped working yesterday. It hums a bit on start for perhaps 5 seconds and then nothing. I need replace it but the Zodiac warranty is 12 months and thus at 14 months, I am out of luck. I will not buy this pump again. There are other solutions. Previous pumps have last a minimum of 5 years.

Buyer beware Do not by this pump. It lasted 2 months and we tried to return it. Well since I’m not a pool guy they would not warranty it. I’m a aircraft mechanic with over 30 years experience. I can attach two wires and a ground. Why sell a pump on amazon where a home owner will install it knowing you will not warranty. Buyer beware.

Typical run around The pump face plate cracked spewing water everywhere. I ordered in Aug ‘19 in anticipation that my old pump was on its last leg. Had installed last week and it was defective ie cracked housing in face plate. Amazon distributor says too long for their warranty go to Polaris. Typical run around.

5 year pump Ordered this pump in 2014. Lasted until Sept 2019. Don't know what actual cause was. Motor winding checked as open circuit. Opened motor case recently and saw windings burned open in two or three conductors otherwise looked like new inside. Was expecting much longer life, as original and its replacement both lasted more then 15 years each.

Not built to last Professionally installed. Broke and needed to pay for repair after 18 months. Now after another 6 months it's broken again and needs replacing. Two year life span seems pretty poor to me.
