I have leased from this company almost 2 years there are several reasons this is a horrible company to lease from. I have trees in my yard that are tall as the house they tell me if they need trimmed it is on me this is unreal. The smoke detector one is in the vaulted ceiling so high you can't even use a ladder they will charge me 60$ to change a battery that is just unreal. I applied fo one of their property. Before applying I spoke to the Customer Care Rep as well as the leasing agent to advise of my situation. I clearly stated that I had no rental history in the USA as I was relocating from Canada. I clearly asked if this would be an automatic denial and I was told no, and additionally I could get a guarantor which I did. I applied and provided all my details. I just moved into one of their homes on February 1st and have had nothing but bad experiences with the communication since getting approved. There were issues that didn’t exist when we saw the property, and day 1 there were problems that apparently can’t be fixed and are marked “as is”. Don’t rent from them. They don’t communicate well and have horrible customer service over the phone. The only good thing is their maintenance guys are quick and friendly.
Hidden charges, horrible people to work with. They will add charges to your account, and make the process of contesting them impossible. They just appear, you are not warned in advance. A call would be courteous. They treat you like you are Scum. Set up auto pay immediately. My first month, got a notice to pay or quit posted to my door. I am honestly shocked that this company has the ratings they do. It is beyond difficult to get anyone to answer the phone, even when you call direct lines. For example: Chloe Conner. I would go days between leaving voicemails and had even emailed and would never get a response. This company charged me $1625/mo for rent. When I received the renewal agreement, they tried to increase my rent to $1660/mo. Yet, when I went onto the website to see what they had the home listed for, it was at $1595!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! So Many things are sketchy with them. They approved my son and daughter in law on 2/18 and told them they were moving in on 2/28 all in writing. They then sent a denial on 2/22 at 4 in the am. Called trying to find out what was happening as they got email about interest in an address in another state and a denial. Many minors issues after move in.Filthy Pool area with spider webs everywhere in the screened enclosure and framing dirty and caked with green moss/mold. Pool deck are melted ballon end everywhere. Cabinet knobs glued on as screws too short - glued didn't hold so knob-less. Corners cut everywhere it seems. Never received copy of walk through nor were emails answer asking for a copy. Poor customer service from "Service Manager" Chris in the Palmetto office regarding an AC issue.
After renting a property for 2 years my family decided to end our lease due to annual rent increases. We had a pre-move out walk through with a Progress Residential representative about 30 days before the lease ended and at that time there were no call outs to damages in the home or fees that would be applied at move out. WITHOUT WATER IN HOUSE FOR 4 DAYS ON 2 SEPERATE OCCASIONS due to issues with plumbing in a 14 month period. Also have gone without air conditioning for almost a week two SEPERATE occasions during Florida summers, internal temperature of house reaching 90 degrees with humidity literally running down the wall. They dont care about making sure you have any water in your home or air conditioning but believe that they absolutely will raise your rent by 7% minimum every time your lease comes up
