This company is shady at best. We ended up loosing a little over $100 (credit check fee +tax) which to us is no more than a rounding error. I had to review to warn others of the shady practices of this company as $100 as it did to us many years ago might mean a lot to some people. First off we have not rented houses in a long time as we have bought our houses. They are crooks who make up false charges only to give you the run around for hours before finally fixing their mistake
DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!!! The worst rental experience of my life. They seem to think it is ok to leave residents with no hot water for a week+, a massive 6 foot hole in the floor and a continuing water leak creating more and more water damage. We have a 6 month old baby and I have an autoimmune disease. I cannot do laundry, bathe my child, do dishes, shower etc. I have also been having trouble breathing and if I develop and infection from this it is incredibly dangerous for me. I wish everyone would read these before renting from them! This company is awful! As others have said, they find any reason to take all your security deposit. We rented from them for 2.5 years and submitted over 40 service requests. Most were addressed...eventually. Upon moving out, they kept our entire security deposit and when I tried to object, they would not even contact me! I received an email 2 weeks later. Let me start by saying my first year renting from Progress was hassle free. Now we are on year 2. It has been nothing but a HUGE nightmare dealing with this company! Fist of all, I was not going to renew my lease and intended to purchase a home. My father became terminally ill and I was no longer able to think about moving. ******* * I have a Progress Residential rental behind my home and we share a common fence. During the September, 2017 hurricane a tree from their yard fell on the common fence and smashed it. I had the township Code Compliance officer out shortly after and it was determined it was solely their fence not mine due to them having pulled a permit. They took our money for application fees and then said we did not qualify. Each of us has an excellent credit rating. I think they make more than rent by just running potential renters through a revolving application mill.
Their customer service and maintenance is horrible at best. I am the Homeowner that lives next door to this house and I have complained several times. This leak outside the home is unacceptable for me as a homeowner. You buy these properties to manage, you should take care of the maintenance so people who actually own their homes can care for their own.
