Chef and restaurateur Marcus Paslay (Clay Pigeon, Piattello Italian Kitchen, Walloon's) brings a from-scratch sensibility and distinct culinary vision to the Stockyards’ Mule Alley development with Provender Hall. Its name a hat-tip to the area’s cattle-centric history, Provender Hall offers Paslay’s luscious take on American comfort food, with a playful menu spanning grilled trout to chicken gumbo to steak frites. Salads and sides such as crispy okra, braised greens and cheddar-cheese grits are also on offer.

We had a great experience here tonight! We shared the fried green tomatoes with country ham appetizer, grated romaine salad with pork belly, grana padano cheese and balsamic dressing, steak frites (medium rare) with some of the best fries I've ever had, and side of braised greens with bits of meat (great flavor!). Everything was prepared well and tasty. But surpassing the food was the service, which was simply outstanding. And not just by our server but also several other team who visited our table and pitched in along the... read more
Having grown up in rural Texas my cousin suggested this place on a trip through DFW. Upscale down home cooking. I wanted to try everything on the menu and we actually ended up ordering way more than we should have. It's all good. Not a single disappointment in any way. It may not taste exactly like your grandmother made it but it tastes like somebody's grandmother did.
Lovely people watching on the patio and great service from Charles from Lake Charles! Ha. The food can be a little hit or miss but the cocktails here are outrageously good! You can order an alcoholic beverage to go and walk around and enjoy it at The Stockyards. Highly recommend you check them out.
This place has its pros and cons. Pros, great appetizers. We ordered the cornbread, deviled eggs, and fried green tomatoes. All were amazing. The best deviled eggs ever. Cons, the entrees that we and our friends split was just meh. We got crispy redfish and steak and fries. I couldn't eat mine. Our friend got banana pudding that tasted like instant vanilla pudding. Go for the appetizers and cocktails. Don't waste money on entrees and dessert.
The best east coast cold water oysters. Drinks great. Collared greens were impeccable.
The ambiance is nice, the food is mediocre. Drinks are pricy and only ok. The menu could be better. The cheesy grits were not good at all. I would stop in for a beer at the bar to hang out but I'd go to H3 or Riscky's Steakhouse for better food.
Ambiance, service and drinks were great. Food was mediocre at best. $24 for a shrimp bowl that had 3 pieces of shrimp is pretty pathetic plus the dish lacked flavor. No one had an outstanding meal. Probably won't return.
We went on a Saturday evening and it was VERY busy, so for sure make reservations! The food was really good! I ordered the meatloaf and ordered the pimento cheese as appetizer, which was also pretty tasty. I would describe their menu as elevated western cuisine but nothing too fancy. The inside has rustic meet industrial kind of vibes but very neat. The staff was very friendly and gave good recommendations.
Highly recommend a visit to Provender Hall! The food, service and vibes were all outstanding. I had the chicken fried steak and it might be the best version I've had yet! The steak and breading were seasoned well. Great crunchy exterior and I ate the whole thing. Our server was so kind, gave us great recommendations and really added to the whole experience. We made reservations about 3 days in advance. There was pretty limited time slots so be sure to book early!
