Garbage I bought this label maker in September 2021. It is annoying to operate, requiring extra steps every time you want to print a label. In December I tried to print some labels and it wouldn't work. I picked it up again a few days ago to see if I could get it to work. I couldn't. It is past Amazon's return deadline so I called Brother. After being on the phone with them for a long time, they are going to send me some new batteries. NOT RETURNABLE - BEWARE Product description is misleading. This screen is EXTREMELY difficult to view in normal lighting and at a desk level. I had to turn on overhead lighting AND prop the machine on a book to tilt at an angle where you could read the screen. Its extremely difficult to learn and more exasperating when you can't see the screen to tell what you are doing. Horrible results Not worth a plug nickle
Contrast Contrast on the display screen is not good. Hard to see brightness goes up to 2 only. It would be nice to have backlit or something to read easier. I would not buy another.
Machine Eats Tapes I've had an old PT-310 for maybe 20 years that always did it's job without a hitch. I bought the PT-D400 because of the limited choices of tapes for the PT-310. After I read the manual and loaded the sample tape that came with the unit, I tried printing a label. The first label was good. This item is NOT returnable, so be sure that this is what you really want. This is a complicated tool to use. Many, many choices...more than I'll ever need. I loved my old P-Touch. With this one I used up about a foot of tape just trying to figure out which font size would match the old "Small" and "Max" sizes.
do not buy Not user friendly, instructions basically worthless...... Non refundable, stuck with printer that has provided nothing but frustration..... also product sent did not match one shown
I threw it in the trash The product was very hard to use, non-returnable & I don’t like to waste my hard earned money. After I tried to get it to operate, I realized how much label type would cost, & then I was really steamed. Bad use of my money
