Disappointingly limited functionality Having just sold my old 80's era Brother Correctronic daisy wheel typewriter, I've always respected the Brother brand. Not PC compatible Advertisement says the PT-D400 is PC compatible. There is no USB connection.
This seller is not confidence It doesn't have the AC adaptor, , its false the description of the product.
This is not the upgrade I was looking for The media could not be loaded. Good: -Includes great features for customized labels. -PC and Bluetooth capabilities. -Easy to read screen and keyboard. Find a different one. It works great but wastes tape. Only right margin adjusts. FINALLY found setting for this - and went from joy to sadness almost immediately. From Brother's own website: "Half - The P-touch label printer feeds an inch of blank tape, prints two dots before printing the label. Cut along the printed dots with a scissors. The text will be center with a 1/2 inch left and right margin." Thanks, Brother. I guess it's like any other thing with family. Last product of yours ever, losers.
Wasteful of tape&money I spent another day at my label-maker astonished by how much tape is discarded unused. How about this approach: let the user specify the maximum total length of final ribbon, then let the logic in the printer figure out how to fulfill that request in the most frugal way. If letters get scrunched, the user will quickly learn how much extra space must be allowed. The first manufacturer that offers, refillable (and/or even returnable) cartridges will corner the market. NO RETURNS! Just know that you can't return this item even if you don't take it out of the original box.
Very difficult to return If for some reason this item needs to be returned, it is going to take good amount of work to explain to customer reps the reason of return and specifics of the issue.
Usless Response from Brother I ask the following question about this product "This model is an inch bigger in LxW than the PTD210, but the LCD screen is smaller than the cheaper model, when theres actually room to make it larger - why is that brother?
