Applied after receiving a prescreen approval letter in the mail, after the fact they said they could not find a lender beware!
nothing better than rategenius called in one day loan was approved within 2 hours entire process less than a week, saving over $70 a month.
Stay away. Will pull your credit before you know it. Was told would do a soft pull and be in contact to further the application. Credit karma notified me that rate genius had done a hard inquiry and dropped my score 7 points
they lower my rate to 4.5% from 11.89% and when they got done i had 49 payments left and they wanter 60 payments the loan was the same amount as i owe on my 11.9% loan and a year longer payments what a rip off place do not deal with these people RIP OFF PEOPLE
I expressed concerns to my loan consultant about undisclosed fees and stated I needed more than 48 hours to review the 20 page application. He responded with the follow:Your not seeing anything different than any of the other 3000 customers per month for the past 16 years. All 200 of us that work here have families to feed. All hype, expected more. disappointed It doesn't make sense to me,so I won't bad mouth them. Anyway, got refied from another more reputable lender at over 5 points lower! No one made any attempt to contact me or question my credit.
Horrible waste of time -- do not use They do a classic bait and switch -- they approved immediately but did not give anything in writing until I had invested several hours collecting and emailing all their requirements. They add numerous fees and unknown items and suddenly started calling the rate they had quoted as APR (I asked -- as I have a masters in finance and know the difference) just the base interest rate (which of course APR is higher). Fake I applied and received a call back in 2 days. When they tried to push a higher payment on me I said no as your website stated you can lower my payment and interest rate they said well we can't but this is a great deal. I said when you find me a "great deal" call me back. That was 2 weeks ago. No call back
Application process is too stressful The reason I rated them a 3 stars is because of the customer was great but all in all the application process was way too stressful just to refinance my car. My current APR is 9.59 and Rate Genus approved me with one of there lenders for 3.14 APR which I was excited about at the time.
