Do not waste your time.. Please do not waste your time filling up 6 page form and then not hearing any update. On contacting customer care, they said that they could not refinance and there is no reason. i already have the auto loan and an amazing credit score of 750+.
Applied and never heard anything.. I applied a while back and never heard a single thing from rateGenius. My credit falls into the excellent range, so I doubt I wouldn't be approved for anything, but even if I was declined the least they could do is email me.
Not worth the time.. Know that it's likely they will not tell you everything you need to do upfront. My car loan was refinanced and after the fact when I had no choice to withdraw I was told I would need to walk my title into the DMV myself to "drop off". This required I take off from work and wait in a 2 hour line. The savings was not worth the hassle. Which I had know this upfront.
No option for Motorcycles I wouldn't have minded refinancing my Harley-Davidson motorcycle to save a few bucks, although my credit rebuilding strategy has me paying of the loan in 14 months not 72 so the savings would not be a dramatic, but still would have been nice.
Applied and never heard back!. Finally I logged in and it said my application was denied because my rate was already too low?! Huh??!
Not bad but there's better out there.. If you purchase GAP insurance through them make sure it actual GAP insuance read every single document and make sure you understand do not sign anything that says no GAP refund after 60 days. I refinanced my vehicle after 2 months of using rate genius. I ask for a pro rated refund on the GAP insurance I purchased through them which at the time they said it was through the lender they lied it wasnt it was through them and a third party. Not a Good Experience Well...the rep was nice. Get ready for several hard hits on your credit report. Not told that multiple financial institutions were going to run my credit. In my case, because I'm self employed, they wanted two years of tax documents (70+ pages) and Profit and Loss Statements. Quote, "The credit union just wants to make sure there are no liens on your income." I felt I was refinancing a home, not a car. They do like to push the GAP insurance.
