Really great experience!. As some other users have posted, I went to LendingTree.com to get a rate quote on my car refinancing loan. I received several offers via e-mail, but a rep from Rate Genius actually called me. His offer was less than the e-mailed offers as well. The rate was 20% less than what I had, reducing my monthly payments by $170! Unsolicited calls I made the mistake of speaking with this company to refinance my car loan. They called non-stop after speaking and even called my work... I did not provide a work phone number so the representative called and had our receptionist transfer him.
An ineffective partner I picked RateGenius when they offered to cut my APR in half by going with a credit union. After submitting all required documents and getting an approval, the lender (a no-name CU) began requesting numerous additional documents. RateGenius rep simply passed on the requests to me with words "can you get this" and "this is what else they need". Rate genius Bozos Took hours to process loan docs (twice). UPS air twice, and then three weeks to pay off my old loan. They held my check and cost me money. I knew they were extending the term but to jerk around my payoff???
Scam Artist!!!!. This company claimed to have saved me 85% on my financing. When I downloaded the paper work it indicated that I would be saving about $35 dollars a month on my payments until I noticed that the term of the contract was for 48 months and not the 44 that I have left with current financing. The CSR specifically told me the reduced payment would be for the same 44 months as before (LIE),So basically it would have cost me more to move my finacing to them . A bucket of lies Rate Genius called me about 3 weeks ago but when they called me they told me that they were Coastal Federal Credit Union. Last October, we purchased 2 new vehicles from a Chevy dealer in my area and, apparently, I had been approved for a loan through the credit union at that time. The fellow on the phone told me that they were following up with me and wanted me to know that I had been approved at 2.99% and that they would honor that rate if I would like to refinance my loans. Rude Extremely unprofessional. I applied with Alliance (who apparently is affiliated with RateGenius) who referred me to a local dealership for a car check (VIN, etc.). The dealership gave me two options, to trade in my current car or to refinance my current loan on my car, and they were a little pushy re trade-in (and I love my car now), so I just called back Alliance and asked them to see what they can do without me having to deal directly with the dealership again. no good My sales guy lied to me. They added on all kinds of things that wasn't on my car. They didn't even have the right model. I told him to fix it and he said he couldn't without me paying money down. I don't know what changed but stay away if you can.
