15 minutes wait for drinks offered, another 15 minutes to find out that they were "out of ingredients for cocktails", the rest of the service was either slow or non-existent. In 1 hour and 40 minutes we were not able to get even to desserts - and we did not order anything complicated. Saturday night in the middle of NYC - out of ingredients? Never going even close to that place. It was an out of necessity solution, because the place looked too much like a tourist trap --- and it is.
We ordered steaks and creamed spinach. Both were too salty. The steaks were OK, but we should have gone to a traditional stark house for a better experience at the same price.
We had not been there for several years. Previously, we ate there several times and very much enjoyed our experiences. We found the menu to be pricey, the food to be fairly mediocre (not very tasty, and there was hardly any chicken in the Thai Chicken Salad, which wasn't necessarily a tragedy since the chicken that was there wasn't very good) and the service to be rather amateurish (e.g, even though they push the fact that the Sunday Brunch came with "bisquits", all they did was offer each of us one piece of bread at the beg... read more
Went to the redeye before our Carnegie hall performance. The food was excellent but service was slow after dinner. We would have loved dessert and coffee but watched everyone around us receive theirs before we were even given a menu. Due to the deadline of us going to a show, we had to forgo dessert to make it out onetime. Their loss, would have spent another 30 bucks.
The last time I dined here, I had the halibut. It was delicious. This time I ordered the tuna. I ordered it medium rare. It tasted dry and not very fresh to me. I was very disappointed. Also, we were given pretzel bread. I call it pretzel bread. My friend thought it was too salty so we asked for another type of bread and were advised they didn't have any. About an half hour later, everyone was offered the focaccia except for us. We had three servers which was confusing. Not my best dining experience.
across from Carnegie Hall..food sometimes really great…overall experience made less great by the staff late at night!
Very disappointed with the food quality for the price. Had the Lobster pot pie and was overcooked and dried out and the lobster was tough and chewy. Service was poor. Would not go back.
Third time there, and I won't be going back anytime soon. I think they clearly cannot handle the crowds of diners that warmer weather is bringing. We were seated in the back, and the waiter ignored us repeatedly, had to flag him down for water, bread and to take our drink order. When the took the drink order, he suggested we make our dinner selection at that time. Didn't know when he would get back. Every other time I have eaten there, service was impeccable....perhaps you don't sit in the back.
Steaks not cooked properly, staff more interested in socializing than doing their jobs. Not worth the cost.
