My wife and I have been to this restaurant several times over the past few years and always had a good experience, and that is what we expected when we invited some friends who had never been there before. Had pre-theater dinner here two days ago. The fare was mediocre steakhouse food. There are so many excellent steakhouses in the city, why would you bother to come here unless to be close to Carnegie Hall? Appetizers and sides were mostly unimaginative and tasteless. Bread selection was dry and tasteless. Cappuccino was weak and cold when it arrived at the table. I don't mind spending good money for excellent food. We decided to lunch here and ordered the $30 price fixed meal. We have eaten all over the city and had many price fixed lunches. The portions were small- spicy salmon sushi roll on the regular menu was 6 pieces and my portion was 3. My husband had the chicken and the cucumber salad was minuscule . The hostess did not explain that she had already seated one of our party and we were searching the restaurant for the person. We were not asked about a drink for at least 10 minutes after seating. The bread was close to stale, The food was adequate, but really overpriced. The signature salad dressing tasted more like water. Everything was ala carte. Great atmosphere but not enough to overcome the other shortcomings.

I have eaten many times at Redeye Grill and therefore, treated my family visitors there. Although our waiter was not very busy, my water glass sat empty for 15+ minutes several times and our drink orders always took 15+ minutes to arrive after we were finally able to get the waiter to our table. This is it anything what I have experienced in the past. Our bill for 3 people was $325 before tip and I expected better service.

Menu offering notably missing the "dancing shrimp." We liked the new more open seating & bar. Great service. All food was unfortunately lackluster or bland. Disappointed with appetizer sashimi yellowfin, crab & lobster lasagne, diver scallops. Would give 5 stars but just not worthy.

We used to enjoy an almost ritual lunch before CityCenter programs. The food was always plentiful and delicious, even though the tabs were a bit pricey. This time we found the food not so plentiful. The oversize portions shrunk. My husband's lobster roll was to contain 1/2 the meat in a 2lb. lobster. Hardly! And no brioche roll either. The salads were skimpy. Another try - once more - and then we three will switch. Sorry.

The quality of the food does not equal it's price. Food is average, service is slow and the bar was terrible. The good part is it's convenient if you're going to Carnegie Hall.
