The chicken was really not very good. It was very overcooked and dry with no taste. The steaks were not just seared, but charred on the outside and were okay but at $50.00 for a filet, it should be better than what it was. The sides were very good as was the banana cream pie. Overall, it was not worth the trip.
1. Greeting far less than warm... distracted and disorganized. 2. Table rocked terribly... fixed eventually, but after long wait. 3. Service inattentive from start to finish. Bread handed out one piece at a time, and only to one person at the table. Butter had to be requested. Wait staff absent from time food presented until we requested check. 4. Food - filet mignon full of gristle. Spinach incredibly salty. Bread stale. Dessert acceptable. 5. Value - None. All entrees al a carte. No starch, no vegetable. $18 for salty crea... read more
Perhaps we ordered the wrong entrees. The sauce for the salmon was just plain greasy, and my escort's tuna needed more sauce. Not my best NYC dining experience.
shockingly overpriced for what it is
I had the chicken schnitzel, it was terrible, ate one bite. Spinach, tasteless. Two ladies in my group politely classified the bar steak as "apparently not their best". The last member liked her fish entree. Left starving .Won't go back. Not at bill of $200 and I had to come home for a sandwich.
thought the maître d was a bit unprofessional. I know it is busy during lunch but he was scattered and when he found that the person seating us seated us at a different table than the one he asked for, he said (loud enough for us to hear and with an obnoxious tone) "I told him B4 not F4, what is wrong with him". Just turned me off, he should be more aware that the patron is right there, it was awkward and off-putting.
food was good, not great.......$60 lobster pot pie was way overpriced and loaded with vegetables in an open face pastry crust......would not order again. the steak was good, sides of mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were just ok. dinner for 2 which included 2 entrees, 2 sides, 1 beer and 1 glass of wine (no dessert) was $180 before tip.
regrettably disappointing in service and food...especially for price w/ so much competition in nyc. steaks were touch, crab cake was tasteless. overall grade below par for what it pretends to be.
This place is a beautiful space but that's where it ends cold greeting at door from hostess and host and the pricing is ridiculous. I would never recommend to anybody. It's one thing to try something inventive and not be satisfied but as I gazed around the room I was not in the minority.
