Very disappointed in the food. The fish of the day (red snaopper) was over cooked, although the sauce was over cooked. The Cesar salad contained dried cranberries....not a good combination with the anchovies. Tne osters were very good, but then banana cream pie was consisted of high chances of banana, very little pastry cream, and globs of whipped cream. Very disappointing. Must comment on exceptional service. Have always enjoyed this restaurant in the past....but cannot see myself returning for.poor food at high prices.
Our first visit to Redeye Grill was a bit diappointing. Our waiter appeared to be overloaded with his amount of tables, because we saw him so infrequently. He never came back to even ask us how our meal was. I recommend going with a party of 4 or more, simply because of the seating. In my initial reservation request, I asked for a window table. They did not honor that request, and since there was only 2 of us, we were stuck in the middle of a section that was rather cramped and very, very loud. Maybe if we had a party of 4, ... read more
too noisy to even hear someone across the table
We were there on Christmas Day and admittedly, the restaurant was short-staffed, which affected the food quality and service adversely. I will try again on a normal day.
It was a Monday night so perhaps the "B" team was on duty but the service was not great (nice guy, honest, etc.. but tough to find) and some of the food was not up to snuff. My tuna was overcooked (easy to do, I know..). The chowder was good as were most of the other entrees; I'd try again (I know others who swear by this place) but I was a little disappointed.
This was our fourth trip and first for brunch. Restaurant was not packed but service was slow. One member of our party had to send back french fries that were served room temperature. The fries had clearly been sitting. Waiter warned us that the burger would take vey long to cook because it was large and thick. When the burger arrived it was a traditional sized burger, quite good but did not match up to its HUGE hype. Eggs were also room temperature. Also distracring were five instances of dropped dishes or glasses. Patrons ... read more
The food was nothing special, the portions were on the small side and, for the money, not a very good value. The service was very good though.
It was okay. Very convenient to Carnegie Hall. Food was unimpressive. No hot chocolate chip cookies at brunch. Expensive. We sat in the outside terrace-like, small part of the restaurant which was quiet but freezing cold. Food was bland and boring. Must have ordered the wrong thing.
Cannot recommend to anyone. Tables very close. Very loud.almost impossible to talk to my wife. Food below average and service as bad as I have ever experienced. Seemed they could not wait to get you out so they could reoccupy the table.
