Redeye grill has slipped a bit. once amazing.
Not a great value. Expensive, tiny portions.
The food was average at best. Overcooked bland fish, Cesar salad drenched in dressing, bread that tasted day old. The service was amateurish. The Waiters insisted on getting our drinks order before we fully set down and got comfortable. I understand that restaurants make most of their money on drinks, but let’s not be so obvious. A tourist trap in a great midtown location.
Ridiculously overpriced and not very good. Never again
This used to be fine seafood choice when going to the theater. Not any longer. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order and another 20 to show up to take the dinner order. On a Saturday night they didn't have two fish entrees that were on the menu but they never had that day. The special lobster bisque was lukewarm but that might have been because it took 10 minutes to get a spoon. We decided after all these years to give redeye grill a try. I wish we hadn't. Its tired in there..Noise level can just get silly. Host who sat us had trouble finding our reservation (it was made through open table and confirmed when they called earlier in the day)..our waitress, who apparently usually doesn't work on Saturdays was the highlight of the entire experience. Food was fine, not outstanding..lobster lasagna was a sloppy, salty,.nasty mess. Simply not worth it for the price and we will not be back.
Food was totally undercooked, sent it back, still undercooked. No excuse for that.
I'm sorry to say that my Valentine dinner was a bust!!! My wife and I ordered two Filet mignon's and I ordered my steak to be cooked medium,which the waiter told me will be pink through-out. The filet was cooked medium well to we'll done. I sent the steak back and they cooked the second one OK. I had to wait a while for the second steak and my wife was almost done when my steak was ready. Both my wife and I agreed that both steaks was not (in our opinion) choice meat. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge (only to find out later that the hotel has a business interest in the restaurant). We dined on the night of the Feb 9 snow storm so it was a pretty quiet night. The restaurant ambience was great and our server was also very good. We ordered oysters followed by entrees. Also ordered cocktails. The oysters were great, the bar was well stocked and the bartender was accomodating of special requests.
