Had the eleven ingredient salad....it had five ingredients and was terrible...waste of money
Alas, I was disappointed, the starter clam chowder, was very heavy in salt, my Ribeye had been left on the grill for too long on one side, leaving it overdone and tough .... not what you want from a New York steak! The fries were cold. The service was absent, long waits, poor attention. Couldn't recommend this, I have had far, far better from smaller restaurants in New York.
Everything was very nice. The big complaint is that the prices were not listed on the website and quite frankly it was NOT worth the almost $400 we spent for the 4 of us. We would not go back there again.
Went there because of it being stated on the "WICKED" website as a partner among other restaurants. NOT TRUE of RedEye Grill as being a partner!! I presented a copy of the printout from the WICKED website; unfortunately the waiter as well as the maitre d was not familiar with the extra perks as stated on the Wicked website by showing a ticket stub to receive extra perks. Also the dinner menu on-line was VERY different in PRICE from the menu we were presented. CUSTOMERS BEWARE! NEVER AGAIN TO GO THERE! Wicked was notified.
This was by far the very worst restaurant experience we've ever had! We made reservations, at the suggestion of our friends, on Open Table and arrived prior to the theatre only to be shepherded into a corner table. (Te restaurant was not full!) The service was frightful. As a large part of the restaurant began to transform, we found out that they had 'sold out' the entire restaurant for a post-theatre group!!!! Prior to eating at Redeye Grill - I had read good reviews and reviews indicating it was overpriced....My experience was there were severe problems with the kitchen, people at surrounding tables had an 8 pm concert to attend at Carnegie hall - and at 7:55 pm finally they received their meals - We had arrived at 6:40 pm and also, at 8 pm - we had not yet received our main course - Finally, after our meals arrived, a little aft 8, management visited our table - apologizing for the long delay - in the end - they charged us only ... read more
Don't bother going - the menu is extremely narrow - many different ways of preparing the same fish - but it's the same fish. And if you really don't want fish, you have few other choices. The food itself is boring and not done well. Even simple dishes like Crab salad is so blah as to be inedible. No Coatroom, so be prepared to sit on your coat. The new decor is cold. The only plus is an extremely friendly wait staff, but they can't make up for the rest. On a price to value scale, I would rate this place a 0
This used to be quiet a good restaurant, one you were comfortable taking clients to, even a little upscale. Smart seemingly personalized service. Had been going there since it opened. It's now little more than Bubba Gump's Shrimp or Red Lobster. Went twice in the past 2 weeks, both work lunches. I thought the first bomb was a fluke and made a special point of expressing my disappointment and needs when making my 2nd reservation. We have a pre-concert reservation for 6 at 6.30 -- despite empty tables throughout the restaurant, we got stuck in a back room with crying babies, and were told we couldnt be moved. Very disappointing experience.
