The staff here is genuinely cool. Including Maurice the lab tech. Not only does he know how to draw blood super efficiently, he is very gentle and never hurts me or makes me feel uncomfortable while getting my blood drawn. When you first come in there are a ton of assessments and it can be tedious but staff like Maurice make it a fun process because they are so friendly and engaging. He knows he is working with people that are hurting so he is very delicate and considerate which I love.
Diana in the kitchen is amazing. She remembers all of our food preferences and always has a very personable and pleasant demeanor. She is always very observant and solution oriented. If there is a problem like someone is acting up in line or maybe they ran out of one of the sides for dinner, she is always right there staying on her toes to find a solution. I appreciate her because she is very prompt and accommodating. Not every kitchen has someone like Diana, but they should!
Medical staff is on point. I have never seen doctors that are so kind and non judgmental and I have been in many treatment centers before. I think it makes a huge difference when Im able to relate and interact on normal level with doctors. Dr. Amisha has been nothing but understanding and kind toward me, she answered every question I had and helped me in any way she could with my medications. This place rocks.
Karah the therapist is very engaging. I love her teaching style because she makes sure to offer different group topics catered to every ones different learning style. She makes it fun and she is a very real person who knows how to hav efun because she is so relatable and enthusiastic.
Groups are super fun. They have great facilitators that are cool and down to earth. One is Olivia, she keeps her cool very well and shuts down any disruptions in class. She is helpful both in and out of session because she will take her time to stop and talk. I learned so much about myself in the groups and they have really helped me to build on my tools and coping skills to deal with my emotions and understand myself in a better way.
TA Keita is very supportive and comforting. She is always there when I need her because she stops to talk with me and give me advice or calm me down when I need it. The whole staff here is very caring especially the techs who form a relationship with over time in that they get to know you and are invested in your treatment. They make sure the campus is safe and if there are any issues, I know I can depend on them to advocate for me by following up and getting me with the right people to help.
The staff is really fun to be around. TA Rachel saved our turtle for us when we found him wandering around she made sure he got put back where he needed to be to stay safe. She always goes above and beyond and genuinely cares just like most of the rest of the staff. She lets us use the phone when she can and is always super helpful because she goes out her way to make sure we are comfortable and have everything we need. More places should have staff like Rachel!
The staff crate a fun environment and make sure to schedule lots of trips and events, Maurice comes in on the weekends to takes us to the beach and makes sure we have a good time. Getting out there with my peers has been a good bonding experience and lets me know that there is hope to have fun sober. Before I thought I could never have fun again without drinking but the sense of community here has given me hope for a future full of brightness in sobriety. I feel like everyone here knows my name and it helps to bring me out of my shell because it brings me a certain sense of dignity like I am important. Elanna in the kitchen not only knows my name, but I hear her remember other peoples names as well which shows that she really cares and puts forth the effort to build relationships with everyone she serves.
