The process groups are great. The number one focus is to talk about how we are feeling which kicks off a lot of conversation and we talk about practical things we can do to help. If we have an issue, the therapists are here with practical advice or they will lead us to a resource to help. The process groups are some of the best and most raw groups. First of all, the energy of the staff here is contagious and unmatched. Any time I have any kind of issue they will come find me in class to answer my questions. I had lost my laundry in the wash and Jason went and located it for me after I had moved dorms and the laundry was delayed. Sometimes being here is hard, but the staff lets me know they care by never passing the buck, always staying busy, and even when they are busy they will find an answer. The medical team here and all the doctors are amazing people. Dr. Fahs always follows through. If he says he's going to do something, I can always trust that he will do it. The medical staff is very relatable, more so than your average doctors you would meet elsewhere. To know Maurice the lab tech is to love him. He always goes above and beyond by working multiple jobs here and he donates his time on Sundays to come in and help out on the beach trips. They have trips to the beach and the park twice a month where they hang out and listen to music, eat food, do activities and enjoy the beach. He also makes people feel calm in the lab when hes drawing blood or doing covid tests. The groups here are very planned out but open. Edelyn the facilitator is always prepared and lets people talk openly to share what's on their heart and she always relates it back to the solution or the topic. I can honestly feel the clinical team here is rooting for us. Edelyn has calm a demeanor that permeates through the room and encourages vulnerability. Its very apparent that the staff here cares about the clients.

Even the staff who is new here are totally invested in my recovery. Gus has been very helpful because he takes the time to stop what he's doing and make sure I have my needs met. One day last week I lost my clothes in the laundry and became very frustrated, he stopped what he was doing and walked me over to the program supervisors office to make sure my clothes were found. The staff will bend over backwards for you. Eldred is down to earth and super quiet, but if you sit down and talk to him he will brighten your day. He is very lenient and understanding and knows how to get along with the clients. Every week we have covid testing and the lab staff all knows my name and every time I see them in passing they all ask how Im doing. Charlie, Zella, and Maurice are very caring employees that will pull you aside and talk to you.

When I called back the line and the lady typed in my name, she was awesome. I had a relapse and contacted the facility right away and they were very professional. She asked me some questions and got my location and sent someone to come get me. If I had stayed at that bus stop I wouldn't have made it. I talked to them directly and they got me back here. TA Tarshae is truly passionate about helping others. She is understanding and goes out of her way to get things done. She shows compassion for everyone she helps. The staff here at River Oaks is truly excellent. They help to make sure all your needs are met to be comfortable in treatment. I've seen her help others every time and she will stop what shes doing to help.
