The therapists care about every single person. People like Ms Amy will go out of their way to stop and meet with clients even if they are not assigned. She makes sure all her people have big brothers to show them around and get plugged in to the community. They give you a tour and an orientation when you first come in. She brings different aspects of learning into group like she plays Jenga and does poem writing sessions in groups which really helps me get in touch with my feelings and emotions. Nursing team is always on point. Nurse Kathy will make sure my sick calls get expediated when I need to get in to be seen or if I have any issue I need to consult with the doctors about. She is never dismissive and takes her time to listen. Communication is not always the best around here but Nurse Kathy really facilitates by communicating and making sure to follow up. She is super friendly and we appreciate her taking the time to be a great nurse!
Sometimes its hard to get seen by a provider but there are doctors here that do their legwork. Dr. Amisha goes out of her way to see clients even when they are not assigned to her. Some people would have just thrown n the towel but she did not. She helped me get my situation taken care of in a very timely way and I felt that my concerns were heard and resolved. Karah is an exceptional therapist because she gets down to the core issue and keeps it upfront and honest. She never tells me what I need to do, she just gives me guidance to help me find my own way to do it and get through what ever Im going through. She is funny and energetic and very knowledgeable, her groups with the women are awesome. She also does DBT and LGBTQ groups. Recently they had a celebration for recovery month which was awesome. They have lots of special events here like we had cupcakes and soda and popcorn and watched a video. The staff gave out beads and we had a speaker here who had graduated. They did a lot of trivia give aways like Big Books and AA literature. TA Jason helped every one sign up for the alumni app because he is really good with technology. Staff is great. Rachel always brings our cigarettes on time and is never in a bad mood. every time I talk with her I always leave in a better mood than what I entered into the conversation with. She makes sure you get to where you need to be and if someone has trouble walking she will pick them up in the golf cart. Although I will not ride with her because she is a crazy driver!
The kitchen staff is always upbeat. Elanna has an infectious personality and always has a smile on her face. She will even slide you extra food when she can and she makes sure that you get good portions which I appreciate because its already hard enough being here. Having good kitchen staff that I know understands and that I can rely on to know what my needs and preferences are is much more comforting considering the situation I got myself into. I just want to give a shout out to the kitchen!
Staff is energetic and enthusiastic. They really care about the clients and love their jobs. Jason especially has an incredible sense of humor and goes out of his way to help get items of my luggage and he can really sense if I'm having a bad day and immediately take me to the side to talk me through it. When he comes in to get people out of group, he does things the right way not the easy which is so important. He also has great follow through, if he says he is going to do something, he gets it done.
Maurice the lab tech is literally everywhere, no matter who you are or if he knows you he will always check in on you. He always offers rides in the golf cart and offers umbrellas when its raining. He is so relatable and has a personality like sunshine. He is so understanding and knows what we are going through. He seems to always have motivation to offer through a saying or a story that keeps you engaged. He never offers an answer or advice, but he makes you feel supported.
