Cami my therapist is extremely through and listens very well. She really dives in on the problems and works on solutions, she truly goes above and beyond. Demitrius, his groups are amazing. He provides certificates, and makes it like a course or a program so its rewarding having something to show for your time here. My therapist Andrea and the psychiatrist were helpful. I learned a lot about myself in the groups. How much I've been lying to myself and not taking care of myself. I feel really luck to be here, no doubt about it. My family helped me get here and they care about me and I care about them. I want to turn myself around, I know there's going to be ups and downs but I learned so much while I was here to help me when I get home. I would recommend River Oaks to friends or family looking for help.
The stand out staff members here would be Nurse Risha, she doesn't have to be here but she wants to be here and you can tell. her ability to not only work fast, but remember who I am and what I'm taking and really care about it is amazing. She was exemplary. She helped me with medication that my insurance didn't cover and she preemptively did my pre authorization forms for me so that I didn't have to stress about it and I could focus on why I was here, which helped me financially as well. I really liked my therapist Christina and my case manager Stephen went above and beyond. TA Keita always has a smile on her face. The groups and the AA meetings were really good. There are a few facilitators that I really liked, Ali, Amy, Demetrius. The grounds are gorgeous I was very impressed. Trivia night is fun. I've never been to an inpatient rehab before and what I learned here is that just going through the motions and taking the steps is not enough to stay sober. Christine the therapist that leads the Veterans group was very helpful. It was the class I got the most out of because it was tailor made and geared toward the veteran mentality. The level of professionalism and the tailoring towards veterans who have dual diagnosis with substance abuse and other issues was great. TA Cecil, Shane, Brandon, and Randy were super stellar and did more than I asked. On the medical side Nurse Glenn was so helpful. I have thanked him personally so many times and told him how grateful I am for his services. I had trouble with sleep when I first came here and it was the biggest obstacle for me to adjust. Glenn would work with me to find solutions. My therapist Saffiyah, Dr. Fahs, and Trina really helped me as well as Frank the nurse. They all went above and beyond what they had to do to make sure my needs were met and make sure i was comfortable. I never had any problems. They helped me get a wheel chair for my mobility issues. Nurse Glenn was always really good about getting meds done quickly. My case manager Stephen made sure everything was set up for when I go home. I liked the process group because I got to open and hear from other people with similar situations. Nice scenery. Its a very welcoming environment to work on your recovery.
Ali my therapist would always find me to talk with me. Even when she was in the middle of a meeting. She worked with my family to make sure I had everything that I needed. She really took care of me. Dr, Murphy and Dr. Sina helped me so much. They checked up on me and helped me with my medications.
