Daisa helped me a lot on my very first night here by bringing me peanut butter and crackers. She was very comforting. When I had a meltdown the other night, I was sobbing and I just wanted to go home but she talked me off the ledge. She's just wonderful and she went totally above and beyond on multiple occasions for me.
Counselors Tony Dimitris and Cami were great. Cami was always so positive and uplifting, her energy was so needed. She made me feel so empowered. Tony and Dimitris were very practical and easy to relate to. They shared somethings that I really needed to hear. I'm looking forward to using the tools that they gave me while I was here. The groups had a wide range of topics that can all be applied in life, also just talking amongst the peers was very healing. My therapist and case manager were very nice. The TAs were very nice. The nurses were nice. The kitchen staff was always nice. The groups had good information but they were really long. I liked the rooms and the beds. I liked that you get to watch TV. I learned to be more independent and set boundaries which is my main issue. I would recommend better cooks.
Overall the nurses were good and all the therapists. Ray is my therapist and he's been very helpful. Very good therapist in my opinion. He's helped me do a lot of soul searching and planning. He knows how to mix therapy and still just be a person. I really enjoyed the time I spent with him. Process group I really liked because we get to talk about a topic of the day and you would see a lot of the newer guys finally opening up. Its nice seeing people open up. Johnny the transportation guy was really nice, he picked me up at the airport and he was so positive which was awesome to be around. TA Michael was really good. All the TAs were amazing actually. Everyone knew my name which was pretty impressive. Its always nice to feel welcome. Dr. Vega and Dr. Amisha were both really good. I was a reluctant participant here. I came here under the instruction of my wife. Amy my therapist was terrific, I love her. She's just a great listener which makes for a great therapist. She always tries to point me in the right direction which is another great characteristic of a therapist. I went to the Veterans groups which was good. I enjoyed knowing the fellows because we related. I found it very interesting. My wife and I paid for my own private room. I would recommend the Veterans group. The staff has been excellent from top to bottom. I'm into the water feature business so I loved the big beautiful fountains. The campus is nice, its very large. I really thought there would be a bunch of losers in this place but I've run into so many exceptional people here and it made me think that well if they're here, and they can do it, then I can do it too. Jennifer my Case Manager and all the nurses were great. Mattie the Care Coordinator helped a lot with giving me my orientation and helping me get to know the place. I like that there is a gym and I enjoyed the Town Hall groups which was a cool experience. This place has a good schedule so it provides a lot of structure.
The nurses Glenn, Frankie, Todd, and Jenn were absolutely awesome. When I first got here I hadn't slept and I felt horrible. I was so restless and couldn't sleep and Nurse Frankie and Glenn came and checked on me. I could go on and on about them . They were so attentive, compassionate, and professional it was incredible.
