Nurse Shay helped me when I first got here, she walked me over to the cafeteria and gave me a schedule, and really took her time with me to make me feel supported and make sure I was ok. My therapist Cami made me feel comfortable talking with her, I had other therapists in the past that I didn't feel comfortable with but I was able to open up and trust her. I had never been in rehab before so I didn't know what to expect but I found the groups to be helpful. They run on a curriculum which is helpful but also repetitive. It w... read more
Both of the Franks who are nurses up front really helped me. They were so quick and personable, they really know you by name here. I would look forward to med pass when they were there. They were both very efficient. Trina my therapist was so easy to talk to and if I had any schedule conflicts she was always able to make it work. My favorite person who led groups was Travis because he would put us in our own smaller groups and it would help to get to know everyone who was there. TA Tanya has helped me a ton, she is a wonderful person. TA Cecil was very kind and has a big heart. I'm leaving here with everything I own and Tanya is going out of her way to bring me luggage because I lost everything I own. The groups here are really good. Its been a really great experience. The staff here has been great. The nurses were over the top helpful including Nurse Berri and Nurse Marshawn. They've done a great job of making me feel welcome here. All the doctors have been wonderful, Dr. Vega and Dr. Shaina had great bed side manner I really enjoyed talking with them and they were very helpful. Therapist Brian and Amy are very knowledgeable. All the staff here was helpful and addressed my needs. Everyone was friendly but firm and professional. All the groups were very good. They helped me process a lot of grief which was hard but good. The grounds are beautiful and the facility was nice. Its lovely here, the amenities and the staff were all great. I came here for detox and now I'm going to get back into healthy exercising along with my intensive outpatient recovery when I go home. I loved it here. Initially coming in I slept the first three days because I was exhausted and in such a foggy state. The room was really nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. I immediately realized that this was a safe place for me to come and get better. I felt like I had the support of the staff. The nurses were right there on the same floor and if I needed something I could go right to them. I had a very good interaction with all staff and felt like my needs were being met. I want to give a special acknowledgement to my therapist Saffiyah and Dr. Fahs. Saffiyah got me to open up and expose some of my darkest fears, tragedies, and mistakes that I had made. She embraced me and turned it into something positive with her kind words. It feels good to have someone to understand what you've been through and offer you compassion, its a beautiful thing. I'm gonna start off with the lunch ladies Angie and Diana. They really looked out for me. I was like 198lbs when I first got here and now I weigh 220lbs. Nurses Mershawn and Nurse Frankie on the night shift made sure I had all my meds on time and when ever I needed something they were always there. Saffiyah my therapist was fantastic. She would challenge me in our one on one's and in her groups which made me think about things differently. I can admit that I was set in my ways when I got here and she helped me to change my perspective. One of the nurses here was always super nice. Some groups were more interactive than others, I liked that the therapists made everyone feel comfortable. I felt comfortable to share what was going on in my life because I didn't feel judged.
