My therapist James was really helpful, Jennifer my case manager, and Dr. Fahs really helped me because he was very open and easy to talk to, he really listens and tries to do his best to fill your needs. You can tell he really cares. I've been to so many rehabs and this was literally the best place I've ever been. The therapists were wonderful and extremely helpful. I learned a lot about myself while I was here. I would love to stay longer if I could. Veronica my Case Manager was amazing and Nurse Glenn is such an amazing human! I know he was nominated for a Daisy Award which he absolutely deserves because he goes above and beyond. The intake nurses deserve shout outs due to the difficult situations that arise on overnight shift. Despite many challenges, the nurses have remained diligent and kept our client's best interest at the forefront of their care. All three intake nurses Jessica, Cheryl, and Bunmi have played a role in helping our other staff learn the intake process more thoroughly and challenging our staff to come up with better ways to support our over night staff. Overnight Nurse's Nalani and Addie deserve a shout out for going above and beyond by assisting our Treatment Advocate staff in doing nightly well fare checks, tasks, and duties. They have continued to do their job thoroughly and have really boosted our overnight shift morale! Thank you to our Nursing Team!
I have sober living set up here in Florida to start my new life in recovery and my Case Manager Veronica played a big part in helping me secure the resources I needed to maintain my sobriety. Admissions Nurse Jessica showed me so much love when I had a relapse and I didn't want to stay in treatment, she really helped me through a very difficult time and helped me find some hope for a life in sobriety which helped me stay in treatment. When I came here I really didn't know what to expect because it was my first time in treatment. It really helped to know that I could keep my phone with me to stay in contact with my family and keep them updated on how I'm doing. My therapist Andrea really helped me and I loved Dimitrius groups because he gave me tools that I can use when I go home and his classes were always very inspiring. I have a lot of resources set up for when I go home. The case managers here and my family really helped me make arrangements to meet with a therapist, and create a 12 step meeting list to attend meetings when I go home. I worked on developing my support system while I was here at River Oaks. Everybody here was really great and helpful. Trina my therapist made me feel comfortable talking with her which is so important. I attended group each day and got a lot out of the 12 step meetings. My Therapist Karah and the family therapist Ray were very helpful. I've been here 3 times now and I had a family session with Ray to work out issues with my family and although he's not my assigned therapist, he would still make time to meet with me once a week because he was helping me to process my family issues. My Therapist Cami and the TA's Jocelyn, Iyesha, and Rachel really helped me because they were very kind and courteous. They always asked me how I was doing and really cared. I learned a lot from the groups here but the main thing that sticks out is to always have an exit plan if I get into a situation that might affect my sobriety and recognizing my red flags and triggers.
