Dimitris is a very powerful motivational speaker and I enjoyed his groups. Therapists Tony and Trina were good. I liked the gym, it was really nice and I liked playing volleyball every day that was really fun. The AA meetings at night were helpful because I always go and its the best meeting of the entire day. My recommendation would be to make that group because it can be intimidating going to an AA meetings at home for your first time. When I got here I was so mad and angry at the world. I had a choice between prison or rehab and I really preferred to go to prison because all the horror stories I had heard about rehab. But my counselor opened my mind about rehab and I chose to come to River Oaks because of the relaxing environment. They treated me like a person when I came here, they treated every person like a human being and cared about everyone as an individual. My therapist Andrea and Case Manager Veronica were awesome. They really helped me stay on track and helped with any issues I may have, they were someone I could always turn to. The staff were so patient, diligent, and helpful with getting everything arranged for my new life in sobriety. The kitchen at River Oaks is one of the best, what's most impressive is that its so clean and organized. I'm doing salads and no carbs and they have been so accommodating to help me with my special diet. From the sugar free oatmeal to the grilled chicken salad. I have not had a bad meal yet. My experience here has been really good. Everybody was really helpful. The program supervisor Christian is always helping me out, anytime I need something she is right there to help. Taylor the TA is always really encouraging to me. The groups were great because I could connect to what the other people had to share and it really helps me out knowing that other people are going through the same thing I'm going through which made me comfortable to share in groups. I picked this place Jenny in Nashville and Trey Lovelace in Tennessee were Awesome trying to get me here I even called corporate to let them know what a great job they did. they were so excited to help me out and they even called to check up on me daily, they shot me text messages and called to make sure everything was going well. Big Frank was my favorite TA because from Day one he asked me if I was new and if there anything I needed and that continued through the rest of my treatment, he always checked to see if I was ok, he even knew me by name. Dimitrius and Tony did amazing groups and offered very motivational words that helped break down what addiction is, how people are affected by it, and some of the tools to help me recover. Therapist James, and Therapist Trina and Jennifer were able to go into depth with me to help with stuff outside of my addiction on like personal stuff that was more at the root cause of my using. There are many people here that I respect. Care Coordinator Mattie, my Case Manager Stephen, Dr. Steve Ramos, Dr. Murphy, TA Cecil, Michael, Frank. Nurses Frankie and Nurse Frank the Vietnam Vet. The kitchen staff was great, Grazia, Glenda, and Orlando really helped me. My therapist Saffiyah was awesome.
