TA Jennifer helped me out finding a place she gave me the address and the numebr and went out of her way to help me with that because she text somebody to help me get into a sober living. One of my favorite teacher sis Ian because he always stays on point and talks about recovery, he shuts the war stories. So many people have helped me since coming here. Maurice the lab tech is so cool. He always keeps it positive and takes time out of his day to check in on us and make conversation, even when I know he must be busy he still makes it a priority to make sure we all feel important. He gives us rides on the golf cart when ever he can to help get from one side of the campus to the other for group or chow hall. He does a lot of the activities and likes to create a fun environment. I have a whole team on my side since coming here. Everyone from my case manager to my doctor to my therapist has been there for me every step of the way since I came in in a fog and slowly started to get my senses back. Amesha my doctor was very understanding of what I was going through and the effects on my body. Even though I felt terrible, she was very approachable and caring which gave me the feeling she was open minded to my situation so it made me more comfortable. They have some great staff. Everyone has been nice so far. There are some specific people who have helped me, once of them is Stephanie. She technically works house keeping but she is all over the place helping out in any way that she can. She does the meal line in the kitchen for dinner and helped me find my clothes from the laundry one day. She's like the jack of all trades around. Very laid back and chill. Lots of good meetings, they have AA and NA during the week in the evenings. We just had the storm come through and everyone was very prepared. They had a plan which helped with some of the fear. Therapist Ali was extra prepared. She stayed the whole time with us and she's also awesome in group. Super knowledgeable and informative. If I have questions she is always there with some helpful advice and she is easy to talk to. Its been a good experience so far.

Some of the best groups Ive ever been to are right here in the rooms of River Oaks. Demetrius is always inspiring. He really makes you feel special with his message and it shows that he's been through it. He issues certificates for when you complete your class which has been special for me because it lets me know I can do it. I never usually finish what I start so I liked that a lot. The housekeeping team is fire. I always have my sheets changed and they will do your laundry once a week as well. Thomas the house keeper is super on top of it. He's thorough when he cleans and always personable and friendly. It also says a lot that he dresses nice and cares about what he does. Anything I need and he is there. Definitely deserves kudos.

Elanna doesn't just cut onions in the kitchen, she cuts up with us during dinner and lunch time which makes it so fun. Some days during the week, they put on music in the cafeteria and its a very casual experience. The staff looks out and there is so much freedom here. If I wanna go for a walk or go work out or I need to make a call, I have the freedom to do that and to set my own schedule outside of class time. I like that they dont lock you down here and there is plenty of space and stuff to do to keep me busy. They still ... read more

I first got here and had no idea what was going on because this is my first time in treatment. I saw the nurses take charge and help mediate the questions I had. Jennifer was so attentive and offered me good advice. She stays vigilant and on top of things so I felt better knowing I was in good hands. Now 2 weeks later Im feeling better and like my old self again. I know all the staff and they have all ben kind. Its a great place to go if you're looking for a safe caring and understanding atmosphere.
