Therapists and case managers have all be there for me when I needed them. My Case manager Veronica helped me to start planning for graduation from the start which made me feel better prepared. She is super friendly and gets things done quickly. She will even work with people who are not her clients so she really goes above and beyond. Groups are always interesting. I learn a lot from Edelyn the therapist who facilitates the classes. She's very organized and a lot of people dont know but shes actually very funny. I think the therapists here really care about their job and enjoy helping people. It shows through the effort and time they put into teaching the classes and always having something fun and engaging to teach. The nurses on my floor were always helpful, I really liked Ms. Casey the nurse because she was always quick to help and quick with my meds. Sometimes med line can take a while and get a little confusing but she keeps things organized and structured in a way that keeps things moving. She always seems happy to help which is very uplifting and her positive attitude spreads to others. I think the kitchen does a great job despite what people might say. They are always friendly and prepared. They offer different option so if you dont want to eat the main meal you dont have to. They will throw a burger on the grill or make a nice chicken salad or baked chicken as an alternative to the main course. Diana is especially helpful because she knows what you want when you come through the line so she always has something prepared for you and she is always accommodating. They have housekeeping that cleans your room daily. The beds are huge and very comfortable. They even do laundry weekly and change the bed sheets. Isabel the house keeper does a fantastic job. She is very fast and consistent, but also very friendly. Overall they provide a great service that not all facilities offer so I appreciate the cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff.
The medical staff is extremely professional with special acknowledgment to Dr. Vega who has always been kind throughout the entirety of my stay and a pleasure to visit with. She is very professional, quick, and efficient. She listens well to my concerns and always makes me feel my needs are heard. She takes fast action and doesn't hesitate to get something done. I wish all doctors and medical programs could be that accommodating!
The nurses were amazing. Mattie was amazing. The doctors here have been great. The groups are really good. I like the motivational speakers Tony and Demetrius. That's been the best. The freedom to move about at your leisure like to smoke a cigarettes' helped me a lot. The food was amazing, snack time is great. It really has been an amazing experience. I love the big trees. I am so thankful for what this institution has done for my recovery. Mr. E. has been pivotal in my recovery at River Oaks. Everything he has said has been very sincere, and he was also helpful in many practical ways. I am so grateful in having this experience and having him here, this place is awesome and even better having Mr. E. He is a continued ray o flight at he end of the tunnel.
I feel comfortable here and relaxed. Ive been to many treatment centers before, probably four or five and this is the most comfortable Ive been. The other places just stuck me in a room with no medication to help me with the detox. Here they helped me through the detox and I felt supported. I like the groups, they have lots of information and everyone if friendly. I feel comfortable sharing because they dont make fun of people.
