Our precious cats have been fortunate to be in the care of the Riverside Vet Group/Ansonia Vet. Hospital on W. 79th, an affiliate of the Riverside Animal Hospital on W. 108th St. We were appalled to hear about the recent irresponsible and devastating article by the New York Post attributing a tragic malpractice at a similarly-named but totally unrelated clinic in Washington Heights, to the Riverside practice on W. 108th. My husband and I moved to Manhattan several years ago and began looking for a vet for our two Boston Terriers. After trying a few vets in NYC, we came across Riverside Animal Hospital (the 108th street office). Great hospital and staff! My sweet Trixie was found in the street, wet and covered with motor oil. She was just 4.5lbs and missing a few teeth. They took great care of her. They were very friendly, informative, and helpful. They really make you feel like they care about what's best for your pet and not like they're trying to push a lot of extra services on you. Highly recommended!
The Riverside Animal Hospital is an excellent facility. My cat Benton recently had emergency surgery, which was handled with the utmost professionalism, courtesy and compassion. Benton's condition was an unusual case of a hairball that had moved to his intestinal tract. The Good: The performed Eyelid Surgery on my dog and she sees just fine now. The Bad: it cost me $2000 with extra visits and unnecessary tests. I had to bring it to their attention that they charged me twice for the same test and pushed to get the $120 refunded back to me (Ironically the mistake was in their favor) Although very friendly i find them a overpriced and to what i recollect they pushed alot of unnecessary tests and medicines. If i was rich i wouldn't mind the money part but i don't have money to burn
In reading through the reviews posted, it is so obvious that everyone has their own experience whether it be the dentist, the supermarket or the vet. I can only speak to my experience at Riverside Animal Hospital which was totally positive. The care my various cats have received over the past 20 years at Riverside Animal Hospital has been exceptional. The people are thoughtful, the doctors are conscientious and everyone is very caring of both the animal and the owner!
I have been going to Riverside Animal Hospital since 1995 and have always been pleased with the personal attention and professional care that my dogs have received. My dog always wants to stop in when we are walking by for a treat and a hello from the staff.
