Well then... Riverside animal Hospital has been my vet for the last 12 years, Dr Kasanofsky is perhaps the most amazing vet on the planet, he takes the time to talk with every one of his clients, he has been the only one I trust with all my pets, the practice is overflowing with people who truly care about animals. So happy to have found a local vet in the heart of NYC that is a combination of small town personality and a high level of medical standards as well. Each staff member I dealt with was professional and pleasant. I was given a very clear understanding what the doctor recommended for my 14 year old "Suzanne " it seemed like a lot of treatments and tests, but she hadn't been to a vet in years. I have been bringing my pets to RAH for over 20 years and have always been extremely happy with their care for my dogs. I have never had problem making an appointment. The staff is very friendly, but most importantly, they will treat your pet as well as they would their own. I've experienced their kindness time and time again, and I am appreciative of people that care so well for animals. RAH has taken care of my cat in very serious emergency situations (including 2 overnight stays) and Dr. East has always been accommodating regardless of what time I come in/how busy it is when I get there. The reviewers accusing these guys of only being concerned with money is crazy--I've never been able to find a *human* doctor who treats me as well as the doctors here treat my cat. They do encourage a lot of testing, but other than a few mandatory ones (primarily for overnight stays) they've been understanding when there a... read more

I'm not sure I understand all the negative reviews here. Yes, I have had to wait here. And yes, it's not cheap. But, I am willing to pay for quality care for my cat, and I have no problem waiting when there are serious emergencies for other animals. Anyone who has taken their animal to a vet before knows how expensive they can be, and I actually think RAH is far more reasonable than people give it credit for. This place is great! I adopted my retired racing greyhound, Sagan, about 4 1/2 years ago and have always gone here (referral from another greyhound owner). The vets are all rockstars (smart, patient, honest, and good at what they do). There are a few different ones but I usually see Dr. East or Dr. Repac (I've seen Dr. Kramer and a few others and they are all awesome). The place is very accommodating. This practice is really something special among vets. First and foremost, they're great with my dog, who has had a number of health scares in the past few months. They're always very compassionate with her and Dr. K in particular is a miracle worker. They always call to check up on the patient a day or two after you've been in make to make sure she's on the mend and are very good at answering specific questions about your pet's health. I'm blown away that Yelp has such a low rating for Riverside: I adopted my kitty from them and could not possibly have received better service! It was my first time adopting a pet and the doctor was so happy I could give a home to Mamie that they waived the adoption fee. The staff was incredibly friendly and explained everything I might need to know about her (even told me her life story, where she was found and all). Riverside Animal Hospital is by far the best animal hospital I have ever been to. They saved my puppy! I brought my 2 month old puppy to them when he was very very sick with pneumonia and bronchitis. My puppy stayed with them for 3 weeks and now months later, he is 100% healthy. I am so thankful and fortunate to have had such wonderful doctors like Dr. K and Dr. Raclyn.
